A darker take on the small GMC SUV
The 2027 GMC Terrain Elevation is the entry point to the Terrain lineup, and it already comes well equipped: a 15-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System, an 11-inch diagonal Driver Information Center, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and more than 16 standard safety and driver assistance features (3).
The Black Edition package is where Elevation gets its attitude. It swaps the chrome and bright finishes for gloss black, from the wheels to the grille surround to the GMC emblems. For Livingston drivers who split their week between US 59, the Loop and weekends out at Lake Livingston, it is a sharp-looking, easy-to-park SUV that does not ask you to step up to a pricier trim to stand out.
New for the 2027 model year
Every 2027 Terrain, including front-wheel-drive Elevation models, now uses an 8-speed automatic transmission in place of the previous CVT. GMC also added new camera technology for 2027, including an available Interior Camera with Cabin Glance and Security Recording, and available Surround Vision Recorder capability (4).
Front-wheel drive or AWD
Elevation is offered with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. Drive modes include Normal, Snow/Ice and Off-Road, with an AWD mode on all-wheel-drive models.
